DENALI MARKETING ANNOUNCES MARGARET MURPHY AS MANAGING PARTNER

Carlson Marketing veteran joins seasoned team of marketing professionals

Oct 10, 2007 (Minneapolis) - Denali – one of the Twin Cities’ hottest new marketing agencies – introduces Margaret Murphy as a managing partner. Murphy joins the Denali team after more than 16 years at Carlson Marketing Worldwide, where she was most recently Senior Vice President.

A proven leader in the consumer, employee and channel marketing arenas, Murphy was eager to challenge herself by starting something from scratch. “I had a great career at Carlson,” Murphy said. “Now I’m looking forward to taking those learnings and building on them somewhere else.”

“We are thrilled to have Margaret here,” said Mark Lacek, one of Denali’s managing partners. “She has deep skills in building teams and engaging her employees as well as a wealth of experience in business development and account management.”

Joining a team of experienced marketers, who just happen to be male, was not the least bit intimidating to Murphy – a seasoned marketing professional in her own right with more than 16 years at Carlson Marketing Worldwide.

“I grew up with five brothers,” Murphy said. “So this environment works well for me.” Her confidence comes not only from holding her own with her siblings, but also from the environment at Carlson and one of her mentors, Marilyn Carlson Nelson. “With Marilyn at the helm, there was never an old boys club and women were given every opportunity to succeed,” Murphy said.

Murphy demonstrated her business acumen early on when she ran her own business – Kim’s Drive-In – in her hometown of Madelia, Minn. After graduating from Madelia High School, she attended The College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., and completed her masters in Management at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. In addition, Murphy completed the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business executive leadership program.

In addition to her work at Denali, Murphy sits on the board of directors of Faith’s Lodge, a retreat for families who are dealing with the loss or serious illness of a child. She is also on the board of directors for People for Parks, a non-profit group focused on improving Minneapolis and its park system. In addition, Margaret volunteers weekly for St. Joseph’s Home for Children in Minneapolis.

Based in Minneapolis’ growing “Madison Avenue” neighborhood, Denali connects strong brands with loyal customers for deeper relationships and top-line growth. Elevating clients with the intensity of a young startup and the maturity of six partners and an experienced staff who have helped shape the loyalty marketplace. Denali is the marketing agency of Bonfire Partners, LLC. Visit Denali at its new website www.denalimarketing.com.
